What is QuickRecord 3?

QuickRecord 3 is a compact application for recording and playing sound on a Microsoft Windows PC. It works on Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000, and XP. Recording and playing back directly to and from disk files, QuickRecord 3 maintains the simplicity of the standard Windows Sound Recorder applet but without the restrictions.

QuickRecord 3 is ideally suited to personal recording and playback of speech and music, and business applications including live music, conferences, meetings and call centres. QuickRecord 3 is based on the MSSR300 ActiveX control, which can be incorporated into any application requiring the incorporation of similar sound recording or playback facilities.

Features

The following is a summary of the main features of QuickRecord. For more detailed information, take a look at the online help pages.

  • Recording directly to disk means that recordings are limited only by available disk space.
  • Direct recording of WAV files (in compressed and uncompressed formats up to 192000 samples/second) and MP3 files.
  • The QuickRecord taskbar icon allows one-click recording or playback to be easily set up.
  • Voice-activated recording (VOX) eliminates periods of silence in recordings
  • Command line control allows unattended recording and/or playback using the Windows Scheduler. Maximum recording time can be limited if desired.
  • Optional tones can be added at the beginning and/or end of recording to facilitate use of QuickRecord as an audio 'notebook'.
  • For systems with multiple soundcards, the soundcard to be used for recording and/or playback can be specified.
