As a growing organisation we are always happy to hear from enthusiastic, talented Software Engineers. We are particularly interested in candidates who are self-motivated and natural problem solvers with a good understanding of at least one of the following programmes: LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, PLC programming, Visual Studio, C, C++, C#, Visual Basic and .NET. Most of our projects are involved with the control of automated machinery for manufacturing and test so experience in this area would be a bonus, as would any knowledge of electronic and/or mechanical design.
We are delighted to announce that Robin Mallett is now a LabVIEW Certified Associated Developer! Robin's certification is a superb addition to our team of strong and experienced software developers which now consist of three out of only six Certified LabWindows/CVI Developers in the UK & Ireland as well as a Certified LabVIEW Architect, Certified LabVIEW Developer and three Certified LabVIEW Associate Developers.
Rachel Wood, PTP’s Sales & Marketing Manager for the past 8 years, left the company at the end of February 2013 to pursue other interests. Everyone here at PTP wishes Rachel the very best for the future.
It is with great delight that we announce that Kevin Snelling and Martin Saxon have passed their LabWindows/CVI re-certification exams with flying colours. Kevin and Martin are both Directors of the company and have been National Instruments Certified LabWindows/CVI Developers for the past six years. Kevin also holds Certified Associate LabVIEW Developer status. Commenting on their achievements, Kevin said "It is always difficult for potential customers to assess the competency of a new software partner - it's not just about daily rates. The National Instruments certification program provides an independent assessment of a programmer's skill and guarantees that they are able to develop software in a structured, efficient and timely manner".
PTP is very proud to welcome Dr Robin Mallett, our newest member of the team. Robin joined the company earlier this month as a Senior Software Engineer having worked for Pico Technology as a Development Engineer, developing software for test and calibration of PC-based oscilloscopes and drivers. This involved developing in C++ and C# as well as some LabVIEW development. Before this, he was based at TWI Ltd., where he completed his EngD in Signal Processing for Non-Destructive Testing with Brunel University. He worked on development of techniques for the processing of signals and images acquired from long-range ultrasonic testing and digital radiography, using MATLAB. Robin also has a first-class degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Brunel University.
In previous years we have sent Christmas cards to all of our key contacts and customers. This year we decided to donate to charity the money that we would have spent on cards and stamps and send electronic messages instead. Do take a peek at the greetings “card” here We have chosen to donate to Magpas Helimedix (www.magpas.org.uk) which provides emergency care to the sick and injured in support of the ambulance service. Some of you may know that one of our engineers, David Johnson, was involved in a very serious car accident in August. Magpas were the first on the scene and helped to save his life. David is making a remarkable recovery and we hope to see him back in work in the New Year. To end on that good news… from all at PTP, we wish you a Happy Christmas and a Healthy & Prosperous New Year!
